Spring Conference 2023 – Gateway to Change!
The Alaska Association of Student Governments is excited to announce that our Spring Conference 2023 will be held April 28-30 in Skagway, Alaska. We are limited to 200 total participants including delegates and advisors, so please get your registration done early!
The theme of our Fall Conference is “Gateway to Change”.
The conference committee at Skagway is working hard to put on another outstanding conference. They are busy organizing community trips, guest speakers, special events and (of course) the conference dance. Vivian Meyer ( email@example.com ) is our conference hosts. Feel free to contact her.

Registration ($130) begins as soon as the website registration link is live. (Jan. 18, 2023)
Regular Registration ends Tuesday, April 4 at 11:59 pm
Late Registration ($150) begins Wednesday, April 5 and ends Friday, April 21.
Electronic Eligibility (for grades, etc) is required by Friday, April 21.
Substitutions after April 21 will require a $20 change fee.
No refunds will be issued for cancellations after April 21.
Reminder: Advisors will pay a $90 registration fee and the host school will be able to register up to 20 student conference volunteers at no cost. Please make sure that you register delegates and advisors correctly.
CONFERENCE DATES TO KEEP IN MIND
E-board meeting on Friday, April 28 3:00-5:00.
Registration will be from 2:30-6:30 pm on Friday, April 28
Opening ceremony – 7:00 pm, Friday, April 28.
Closing ceremony – Ending at 12:15 pm, April 30.
1:15 – Alaska Marine Highway (Ferry) arrives Skagway
1:30 – Load up pickup trucks with luggage
1:30 – Transportation to the school – buses
12:15 – Transport to ferry terminal
1:30 – Ferry departs Skagway
***Will accommodate people not using the ferry schedule – pick-up and drop off at the airport. Please communicate with Vivian Meyer.
Delegates will be housed at Skagway High School. Reminder that you are required to bring a female and males advisor/chaperone for your delegates.
Juneau Hotels & Transportation:
The rate Skagway School gets at the Best Western is $99 per night (will transfer from ferry and airport).
The Aspen also offers school rates of $79. They do not offer transportation though so if a school was to stay there, they would need to arrange and pay for their own transportation.
First Student Bus is the one Skagway School uses for ground transportation.
E-Mail is the best way to reach them.
It would be most economical if schools coordinated transportation.

INTERESTED IN HOSTING A CONFERENCE?
Conferences are an exciting opportunity for both the students that attend and the schools that host them.
Past conference hosts Danielle Lewis (Eagle River High), Elizabeth Bender and Lindsey Glenn (Kodiak High), Barbara Jackson (Mat-Su Career Tech), Vivian Meyer (Skagway), Kassandra Mirosh (Tri-Valley), Karlie Rauchenstein and Robin Lockwood (Wasilla High) are available to lend support and guidance in your decision to become a conference host school. Host schools will also have the support of the AASG executive board. Our parent organization, the Alaska Schools Activity Association.
